Physical Education at Oakdale is leading a healthy and active lifestyle in which children develop fundamental skills in all lessons with an emphasis on enjoyment. We ensure that children are engaged in a highly stimulating PE curriculum where they work collaboratively recognising their successes within competitive and friendly activities. As a Rights Respecting School we aim to ensure that every child has the right, ‘…to use and develop their talents and abilities (Article 29) and has the ‘right to play’ (Article 31)

What is the sport Premium?
In April 2013, the Department for Education, health and Culture, Media and Sport announced funding for schools the improve the provision of P.E and sports in schools.
Our school has received £10,014 for the academic year 2014/2015
Our school has received £7,106 for the academic year 2015/16 (up to April this year)
Our school has received £9,7670 for the year Apr 16 – Apr 17
Our school has received £15,419 for the year Apr 17 – Apr 18
With regards to sustainability of our spending, the investment into our playground and our sports equipment, will ensure that all future pupils will have the same opportunities as our current cohort receive now. By up-skilling our teachers, we are investing into our staff, leading to an increase in the delivery of our PE curriculum not just this year, but in years to come.
