Learning for Life

Extra-Curricular Visits and Visitors

The visits and visitors that we organise across the year are an incredibly important part of our curriculum. Educational visits and visitors have a positive impact on our pupils; stimulating interest, curiosity and a passion for learning. These experiences expose children to new cultures, provide opportunities to develop new skills and build new relationships, which ultimately prepare them for life beyond Oakdale. These special days are most importantly a fun way to learn and have such an impact, that they are likely to be the memories our pupils cherish as they move through both schools.

Visits

These are the places we have visited this year in London and beyond!  They may change from year to year as our curriculum evolves.  We also try to visit a place of worship every year linked to the religion we are focusing on.

Visitors

Every term we also organise a visitor to come into school to speak to the children about a topic they are learning about.  Again, these will vary but it is always a good opportunity to listen to an expert and make memories on these special days at school.  Quite often these days will link to History, Geography or Science.
