Gold Level Accreditation

Since 2017, the Juniors has been accredited as a ‘Gold Star School’ in the TfL STARS programme. 

STARS – Sustainable Travel: Active, Responsible, Safe – is an accreditation scheme for schools, nurseries and colleges by Transport for London to inspire young Londoners to travel sustainably, actively, responsibly and safely.  

Oakdale Junior School is amongst the top 10% of London schools who set high standards to inspire others to transform travel habits, fully engage the wider community to promote best practices, and see a measurable reduction in the number of journeys made by car every day. 

We have promoted our School Travel Plan through various activities and learning opportunities. Some of these activities include cycling proficiency training, pedestrian skills training, learning about the health benefits of active travel, keeping safe on public transport and the promotion of road safety through ‘Road Safety’ week. 

We will continue to encourage sustainable forms of transport and road safety for the health and well-being of pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
