Welcome
Welcome to Oakdale Junior School.
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Oakdale Junior School which is part of The Oakdale Federation. We are a happy, vibrant and a successful community where every child is recognised as an individual.
Our aim is to provide an inspiring curriculum that helps prepare children to lead full and active lives in a rapidly changing world. We want our children to be prepared for each phase of their schooling (infants to junior or junior to secondary), as confident, resilient, curious and respectful young people, with high aspirations for themselves. We also want them to be prepared for a world that has yet to be invented or created so that they will be confident to take their part in society.
We see education as a partnership between school and home. In our experience, children are most likely to achieve their potential when parents/carers and teachers work together. We provide regular opportunities for parents to come into school, not only to discuss their child/ren’s academic progress or personal development, but also to share in other aspects of their wider education.
I hope that our website captures the essence of our school, however we encourage families and professionals to visit. We look forward to welcoming you to meet some of our children and staff and to experience, for yourself, the quality of education given to all our children. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Oakdale Juniors is special - we are a happy, inclusive and successful school where staff care endlessly for pupils both academically and emotionally. We are proud to be a Gold Rights Respecting School and a Nurturing School as we know that by putting well-being and happiness first, children will achieve their very best in all areas of school life. Children have the right to an education that develops their personality, talents and abilities to their fullest potential and at Oakdale, we are committed to providing this opportunity. (Article 29 of the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child)
Our curriculum is exciting and prepares children for the part they will play in our rapidly changing world. They will learn inside and outside the classroom from dedicated teachers, support staff and visitors, ensuring that they know more, do more and remember more as they move through each year. We want children to be resilient, confident and curious about the world so that they have amazing aspirations for the future.
This prospectus and our website will give you a taster of our school, but please arrange a time to visit us and see our school at work and the extensive grounds we have to offer. Education is at it’s best when school and home work together, so we look forward to welcoming you to Oakdale.
